I was privileged enough to learn the ins and outs of both the hospitality and construction industries whilst growing up in Welkom. My father owned and operated a supermarket, catering company and was a property developer on the side. I gained more experience whilst living overseas post matric. I worked in construction in Washington DC, managed an Italian Deli in Sleep Hollow New York, and the restaurant manager in London. I returned to Cape Town South Africa in 1999 where I worked as National Operations manager for the AA test & drive road worthy stations. I finally moved to Rustenburg in 2006 where we started with hospitality supply.
Our business partner joined Raffa’s 6 years ago where he plays an important part in growing our brand in the Northwest Province. He is a restaurant/catering company owner who also runs canteens on the mines. This is where he focuses on marketing our products and obtaining maintenance contracts for Raffa’s. Ofentse was born and raised in Ledig. Trained to be a chef at Sun City post matric. Once qualified he ventured out and opened up his own restaurant called Passion Grills in Thlabane where they also operate a successful catering company which specializes in Passion Glamping.
Born in Thabazimbi, worked as a blockman in a butchery post matric, then at Dikololo game reserve for a few years. Moved to Rustenburg where he worked in Construction for 10 years. Joined Raffa’s in 2013 where he heads up the maintenance and transport departments.
Born in Kempton Park. Worked at Metro Training College as a lecturer (2005-2009). Teacher in Atok, grade 4 – 7 (2010 – 2011), Client services liason at Advanced Channel Technologies (2011 – 2012), then finally to Raffa’s where she manages the accounts department and is our Rustenburg branch manager (2018 – present day).
Born in Gloucester, England. Post matric worked at Royal hotel, Ladysmith as duty manager (1984 – 1988), Mpekweni Marine resort as Jnr F & B Manager (1988 – 1989), Amatola sun hotel and casino as assistant F&B manager (1988-1991), Riviera Hotel as F&B manager (1991-1993), Venda Sun Hotel as F&B manager (1993 – 1997), Aventura Resort Warmbaths as resort manager (February 1997-September 1997), Sun City Resort as warehouse manager (1997 – 2020), Raffa’s as sales manager (2020 – present day) After 17 years in the business it is safe to say that we have made our mark in the hospitality industry. We are an extremely proud, positive working family who strive daily to grow the Raffa’s brand.
